In humanities we had to research about anything that had to do with food justice, I decided to research about child labor/fair trade chocolate. When we had all our research done we began writing an essay and then made an infographic. Once the infographics were all done they were shown on exhibition day.
An article I found really useful/helpful was "Inside Big Chocolate's Child Labor Problem." Fortune. N.p., n.d. Web. 19 May 2017. http://fortune.com/big-chocolate-child-laborIt gave me a lot of information about child labor in the cocoa industry, how kids from the ages 12-16 or even 5 work in these fields and are the ones who work in the process of making chocolate. They also talk about the dangerous work these kids have to do and the different tools they use which is important to know because we need to stop child labor in the chocolate industry so no more children could get hurt.
For this project we got feedback on our infographic and research paper, and this led to me removing the white background of the cacao bean on Photoshop. Even though I've used photoshop before I always forget on how to use the different types of tools there are. I asked for help on how to do that and now that I know how to do that I can helps others as well. I considered my peers'/teacher's feedback and was able to improve my work. Through this process I learned how to reach out for help and be more open to feedback.
Something I'm most proud of was how everything came out. I used my class time wisely and tired not to get too distracted.
If I were to do this again I would probably chose a different topic that I would be more interested in because I feel like I would've wrote more, but overall I was proud of my work, I turned in everything on time and I feel like this was one of my best work.
When we started this project I had a few topics that I wanted to talk about but I didn't know which one I should focus on. Since we only had a few days to decided what topic we wanted to focus on I chose to write on child labor, I didn't want to procrastinate at the beginning and turn in my late work but then again I would've chose a topic I was more interested in.
